As part of the design of the Publishers Clearing House we were called in to assist them with the design and engineering of their site. It was important to the company that the site design support their management philosophy of a low impact, natural facility. In keeping with this philosophy the building was designed as a single story structure, with numerous windows and light wells/courtyards throughout the building. The main entry was oriented around recharge ponds which filtered and returned surface drainage water to the aquifer. This sweeping entrance feature provides a grand entry to the building which establishes the company philospohy at the front door.
The pond included planted islands which break down the scale and create a visual counterpoint to the horizontal edges of the pond
