MPFP assisted Beyer Blinder Belle with the Dapilin Development, a 23-story condominium tower, designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel. A seven-story wall of mullioned glass stands 15-feet from the building façade creating a semi-enclosed atrium hosting suspended plants and trees in a steel grid over the lobby restaurant and residents’ private terraces.
MPFP also designed a 2,700 square foot courtyard garden, as an extension of the interior lobby and a transition between the public life of the street and the privacy of individual homes within. A carpet of evergreen ground cover and ferns slope up to create a contrasting set design of forest like landscape against red foliage trees. Large, punched windows provide views within this tree-filled garden, and the lush bevvy of plantings also serve as an intensive green roof to the building’s swimming pool below.
