Residential
Urban Design

Collaborating with Rudin Management and SOM, MPFP was tasked with transforming two on-deck open spaces adjacent to the 35-floor residential building. Originally built in the 1960’s, MPFP successfully designed and implemented expansive open spaces atop the building’s parking garage. MPFP’s design intent used a formal approach, seeking to emphasize the visual and pedestrian connection from the entry lobby through to both the East and West Gardens.

Arriving in the East Garden, visitors and residents alike are drawn in by a granite-clad fountain plaza, flanked by two expanses of grass. Custom seating elements frame each side, offering a quiet and verdant moment of respite from the urban environment. With elegant fountain jets that add a verticality to the design’s centerpiece, the East Garden has an inviting quality apt for a quick read, or to catch up with neighbors.

Formerly an overgrown and underutilized open space, the 25,000 SF West Garden is now host to a variety of contemporary amenities. Focused about a sculptural element in the center of the garden, a lush platform of grass steps up in tiers and offers three levels for picnicking or sunbathing. Situated behind the sculpture, two custom shade trellises bookend an expanse of grass - this space can be programmed for community and private events, offering residents an amenity-rich backyard.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
