Banner Lane
Located centrally in NoMa, Washington, DC, Sursum Corda will be a vibrant community organized about a central public park and pedestrian promenade. With over 40,000 square feet of landscaped outdoor space and 199 affordable units, Sursum Corda will replace the low-income housing co-op of the 1960’s with modern amenities and a lush landscaped environment.
MPFP is collaborating with WDG Architects to reimagine a fresh take on the Sursum Corda masterplan. MPFP’s design intent sought to create a cohesive landscape narrative for the outdoor environment. Starting from the shared pedestrian street, the “Forested Mews” winds through custom undulating planter beds with built-in benches. Imitating a meandering river, the “Forested Mews” gives way to the “Cascade”, an informal stepped amphitheater set about a grove of birch trees. The “Cascade” looks out onto the Meadow, a vibrant open-space with a programmable lawn and adjacent vegetative buffers for privacy at the corner of L Street NW and 1st Street NW. The amenity courtyards and terraces mirror these narrative themes, offering a variety of contemporary amenities for residents and visitors alike, including fully equipped outdoor kitchens, a swimming pool, shade trellises, and lounge areas.

What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
