Estate at The Yards

Urban Design

The Estate at the Yards is a 95,250 SF residential extension of “The Yards Park”, a 42-acre waterfront project designed and managed by MPFP. The design intent focused on strengthening the physical connection to the waterfront, bringing design elements from the vibrant park up into the vertical fabric of the new Parcel L building. Rising out from The Yards Park, the terraces of The Estate bring with them a lush landscape vocabulary, replete with ample shade trees and native ornamental grasses. Each terrace looks out onto The Yards Park and the Anacostia River, inviting residents and visitors alike to explore the evolving Capitol Riverfront District.

MPFP led the design of these illustrious amenity terraces and an inviting public open space, selecting low-impact development species for a verdant and environmentally friendly design. Approaching from The Yards Park, a distinctive paving hierarchy lends Parcel L’s public open space and building entry a strong sense of identity. As a node within the larger Capitol Riverfront District, The Estate links Tingey Square and The Yards Park, both exciting pedestrian-friendly open spaces.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
